Good morning, everyone!!
Today we continue with the new English unit called Manners. You need your English book and also, open Travelers in your browser. We have already sent you the Travelers assignment that belongs to the story of this unit called International Manners.
- Go to pages 178 and 179. If you can use Travelers, first listen to the audio of the story. Then, read it aloud and try to understand the new vocabulary.
- After this, go to page 179 and do exercise 5.*Remember you need to underline the sentence where you have found the clue to choose the correct answer.

ResponderEliminarOne custom of Spain that I think is considered strange abroad is that in Spain we have dinner later than in countries abroad.
In my opinion, it is strange that the number of kisses people use to greet is different in different countries. For example, in France people only greet with one kiss, in Spain people greet with two kisses, and in The Neetherlands and in Switzerland, people greet with three kisses.

ResponderEliminarI think that people from other countries considerade strange that in Spain we don't have the "School Bus" from for example England or USA and another countries.

And in my opinion I think the most shocking custom from this reading is the dressing:for example in Asian countries is prohibited to enter to a temple in skirt or shorts, in China is polite to wear a clothing that covers the shoulders, back and the chest, in many Middle Eastern countries women must cover their head with a veil or a scarf and men wear a traditional hat. In countries such as Iran and Saudi Arabia, women must wear a long robe that covers their body. And finnaly, in European countries is not polite to enter in a church with a hat, but on the contrary, in some temples of India men and women are required to to cover their head.

ResponderEliminarIn Spain there are lots of customs different than other countries.
One is different abroad other countris is to drink wine and beer in restaurants, bars...
Other is that in Spain, people offer coffee to people who visits your house.
I think that the most interesting manner is in Saudi Arabia, men who are close friends meet touching their noses.
Other strange manner is that in South Korea, people eat sitted on the floor instead of a table or chair.
Other strange manner is in Asian countries, when people eat soup or rice, they usually hold the bowl under your chin.

ResponderEliminarOne common custom here in Spain that is considered strange in other country is that sleeping 20
to 30 minutes after eating in Spain is normal but in other countries it is rare.
In Singapur if someone notices you haven't flush the toilet you have to pay a penalty you run out of money for the rest of the trip.

The most shocking thing international is that in Asia impolite wear shoes inside a house and they use slipper. And for me other thing that is shocking is in the United States if is day you go to the house only you be invited to some rooms like the living room and never to the kitchen and the bedroom.
